Physical Frailty Could Predict Alzheimer's Disease (HealthDay)

HealthDay - WEDNESDAY, Aug. 13 (HealthDay News) -- Physical frailty among theelderly may be linked to early Alzheimer's disease, regardless of whetheror not patients develop dementia, new research reveals.

If you have ever considered using complementary or alternative medicine (CAM for short), you may have asked yourself "will my insurance cover this". The answer will probably disappoint you. The truth is, very few health plans cover complementary or alternative medical treatments. It's almost as if the insurance companies are in cahoots with big medicine and the drug companies. They turn their cheek at the idea of CAM being an accredited form of treatment for disease, illness, or injury. It's time for them to wake up and start recognizing these alternatives and paying for these services. In my opinion, if a treatment exists that is buy bulk coenzima q10 to be effective and safe, my health insurance should cover it. The problem is, most alternative medical treatments are not endorsed or approved by FDA or the major governing bodies. This bureaucratic poppycock is preventing many people, including myself, from seeking the treatments we need and desire.

I think it's about time large insurance companies start modifying the qualifications for acceptable treatments. In this country, we are free to do darn near whatever we want. Why can't we be free to choose our medical treatments? Technically we are free to choose, if we have deep enough pockets to pay 100% of the cost. I imagine that leaves the majority of us accepting the treatments our insurance company will pay. Let me tell you, this very rarely includes CAM. If you would like to find out if any insurance companies in your state cover CAM claims, your state insurance department may be able to help you find some answers. These departments buy bulk caffeine powder provide consumer publications, such as profiles and ratings of insurance companies. They do not provide recommendations or advice on specific companies. An insurance agent who health insurance directly or brokers may also be a resource. If your wondering if your current plan covers CAM, simply call your company and ask them directly. Good Luck! (If your insurance provider covers CAM, please let me know as I am trying to find a major provider that does).

With the cost of health insurance sky rocking, I can't help but question why these institutions don't step up and take a more aggressive stance on paying for alternative and complementary health treatments. Often times, CAM proves to be a superior remedy to its conventional counterpart. At any rate, I'm not expecting this to change anytime soon. Until enough noise is made, nothing will change. But, if enough of us raise our voices, maybe we will be heard. Too many people are unable to seek the treatments they desire. Often these uninsurable treatments turn out to be the best form of medicine available. This nonsense needs to stop.
